Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology

Prof. Tu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was previously a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Gerbrand Ceder at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research solves electro-chemo-mechanical problems in energy storage systems — such as solid-state batteries — and in water desalination systems. Throughout his PhD and postdoc he collaborated closely with experimentalists and theorists at both LBNL and UC Berkeley across a range of research areas, and he continues to pair modeling with in-house experiment at RIT.
